About Better Man Than Me
Inspired by a man who was raised without a father, Dr. Paul Phillips started an organization to help fatherless young boys throughout Chicago in April of 2011.
As a young man, living in a household with four women, he always wondered what it would be like to have a father. In the absence of a man in the household, Dr. Paul Phillips felt like he missed valuable things he could have learned from a man. In his adulthood, he set out to make sure other boys don’t feel the same way.
Dr. Paul founded the Better Man Than Me Foundation (BMTM) which was established as a 501 c3 non-profit organization. The Better Man Than Me Foundation endeavors to foster personal and educational growth and teach young men how to build meaningful relationships. By providing financial assistance, advisement, mentoring, and resource planning skills, we are helping to give young men a strong foundation for a fruitful life.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote success and responsible stewardship among men. We emphasize empowerment and guidance for young men ages 8 and up.
